The Wheels Turns to Ostara

Traditional Date: September 21st
2026 Date : September 23, 2026 10:05am

The pagan spring equinox, widely known as Ostara, is a seasonal festival celebrating
balance, rebirth, and the awakening of the earth.
In the Southern Hemisphere, it happens around September 22 or 23.
It marks the official start of spring and the end of winter.
During the spring equinox, the sun shines directly above the Earth’s equator,
giving both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres nearly equal amounts of daylight and darkness
Witches and practitioners of The Origins and Practices of Holidays: Ostara, Holi, and Purim honor the
Germanic lunar goddess Ēostre (or Ostara), who embodies fertility, dawn, and new beginnings.
